Grief is an interesting thing. It moves quietly from sadness to blinding rage. This was the second part of my "art therapy" session that Demi helped me convey. In the previous series, Demi and I portrayed helplessness, sadness, and inner turmoil. These photographs illustrate anger and bubbling hatred, emotions that (unfortunately) were consuming me at the time these were taken.
. . . time is not a linear thing. The process of grief and those who have struggled healing from shit, can understand how one moment you're fine, and well, and in the next moment you may not be.
Also, I was REALLY loving the song, Blood in the Cut by K. Flay, that Dem literally showed me while we were shooting these, so the knife that was symbolizing grief, really played out well here.
